Andrew Freston
Andrew Freston is an Emmy-nominated media executive and executive producer with over 14 years at VICE, where he helped build VICE Studios from the ground up. As Co-Head of Unscripted and Vice President, he oversaw the development and production of acclaimed documentaries and series for leading platforms including Netflix, Paramount+, HBO, Hulu, Amazon, ESPN, History Channel, VICE TV, and Lifetime.
His credits include Encounters (Netflix’s #1 most-watched documentary series and a 2024 Emmy nominee), Superpower (Paramount+’s #1 documentary and a Berlinale 2023 premiere, also nominated for a 2024 Emmy), Bama Rush (the #1 documentary on HBO Max, now expanding into a 10-part series for Lifetime and in development as a scripted series), and The American Gladiators Documentary (Hot Docs 2023; part of ESPN’s 30 for 30). He also executive produced Meet Me in the Bathroom, which premiered at Sundance 2022 to widespread critical acclaim and is now streaming on Paramount+.
Previously, Andrew held creative and executive roles at Quibi, Interscope Records, and William Morris Endeavor, and helped launch VICE Media’s West Coast operations. He is based in New York.
